George Peoples from Fulton, MD (L) and Major Tad Gerlinger from Saline, MI April 7, 2002 at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. The unidentified man lost his fingers from gangrene due to frostbite and the fact that it took 2 to 3 months for him to receive medical care.
