UNKNOWN — Early-1950s: Enzo Ferrari began racing as a youngster in the mid-1910s. After World War I, he started Scuderia Ferrari, the racing team representing the Alfa Romeo brand. He continued as a driver through 1932 before turning his full attention to managing Alfa Romeo’s racing operation. After World War II, in 1947, Ferrari began manufacturing cars bearing his name. He used racing extensively to help with marketing his cars, winning the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans at Circuit de la Sarthe in France, to date, 14 times. Since 1950, Ferraris have won the World Formula One championship 15 times with drivers Alberto Ascari, Juan Manuel Fangio, Mike Hawthorn, Phil Hill, John Surtees, Niki Lauda, Jody Scheckter, Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen.
