Ku Klux Klan Charged with Firebombing House
Meetting outside Forrest County Courthouse march 14th are Charles Evers (right), NAACP field director who lost his bid for a seat in Congress, and Alvin Dahmer, whose father, Vernon Dahmer, was killed by night riders in 1966. Later in the day a confessed participant in the attack was schduled to take the stand as the key witness in the murder and arson trial of a reputed Ku Klux Klansman charged with the firebombing of Dahmer's home. The defendant, Cecil Victor Sessum, is the first of 11 alleged White Knights and a Klan lawyer to face trial in the killing. Evers has been called as witness for the defense.
