Mexican military personnel stand guard close to a natural gas pipeline that was damaged early Monday when according to state-owned oil company Pemex apparent saboteurs detonated multiple explosives along its path, in Maltrata, in the east Mexican state of Veracruz, September 10th, 2007. The company said it had been forced to shutdown parts of the gas pipeline network after the blasts triggered fires. Emergency officials said around 15,000 people had been evacuated from areas near the pipeline. Veracruz governor Fidel Herrera said no group had claimed responsibility for the blasts.
