(Original Caption) They sent him forth to war from Brooklyn and there was many a damp eye in Flatbush and along the Banks of the Gowanus Canal, but there's Leo "The Lip" Durocher, manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, back as large as life at the old stand. The Army turned him down because of a perforated ear drum, so he'll continue to make life unbearable for umpires as pilot of the Dodgers.
