The Sanctuary of Monti-Sion is located on the Balearic Island of Mallorca, quite precisely between the two monastery mountains of Randa and Sant Salvador about 3km outside of Porreres. The Santuari de Monti-Sion is located 250 meters above sea level on a prominent hillside on the outskirts of Porreres. It is dedicated to the Holy Mother of Mount Zion. The first chapel was erected here in the fourteenth century and later expanded by further buildings. The construction of today's church began in 1498. At that time, a grammar school was opened, which was recognized throughout Mallorca and entitled to graduate studies in Palma.
