Oregon Congressman Peter DeFazio argues in debate on a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution that the dirty little secret about Social Security is that it is trust fund is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States, $3 trillion collected from every working American but with an aging population, Social Security benefits would be cut under the amendment and if the little dream of Republicans passed, seniors would see it reduced by $643 each year, false promises to the American people.
