Miyazaki residents see off elephant bound for Kobe on maternity trip

Video footage taken on July10 in Miyazaki shows Midori, a 17-year-old Asian elephant belonging to Miyazaki City Phoenix Zoo, being transported by truck to an awaiting ferry headed to Kobe. Midori will spend a year at Kobe Oji Zoo, where it is hoped she will mate with a 26-year-old partner.
