Amoeba locomotion, timelapse microscopy. - Vídeo de stock

An amoeba is a single-celled protozoan that moves by extending a process called a pseudopod in the direction in which it wishes to travel. The cell cytoplasm streams into the extended pseudopod, bringing the rest of the cell with it. It also feeds by extending several such processes around prey, digesting it when it is fully enclosed. Amoeba typically reach around half a millimetre in length. Filmed with dark field illumination
