NEW YORK, UNITED STATES - 2020/07/11: Chaplain Robert Rice, Gale Brewer, NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey attend Occupy the Corner rally in East Harlem in response on gun violence. Gun violence in 2020 surged by more than 100% in New York City mostly in neighborhoods with high rate of poverty and high level of COVID-19 cases. Community activists and police department increased presence in those areas in order to stop gun violence.
