Lucy Teixeira Introduces The Trees For Tom Initiative

Captain Sir Tom Moore was a British Army officer veteran who raised nearly £33 million for NHS charities in the run-up to his 100th birthday during the COVID-19 pandemic by walking laps of his garden. He was knighted by the Queen for his achievements and became famous across the world. He died of Coronovirus on 2 Feb 2021 and would have celebrated his 101st birthday on 30th April 2021. Tom and his mother, Lucy, are fundraising online for "The Trees for Tom" Initiative. They have selected two environmental charities, the Woodland Trust in the UK and TreeSisters internationally, to plant a memorial wood in his home county of Yorkshire. Lucy says her father spent his formative years in the Yorkshire Dales, roaming the land having a glorious time.
