Owner Saves 'Clumsy' Dog After She Falls Into Pool Twice Within a Matter of Moments

A "clumsy" 14-year-old dog was rescued from drowning in a pool in Adelaide, South Australia, by her owner - before making the same mistake moments later. Shannon Tremaine was in her dad Vincent's backyard when their dog Chloe's tumble into the pool was captured on security cameras - twice - on Monday, April 14. This footage shows Tremaine open a gate to let Chloe into the area, with the dog almost immediately stumbling into the pool. Tremaine, who is fully clothed, kicks off her shoes and jumps into the water to rescue her struggling pet. After pulling Chloe to safety and drying off, Tremaine begins to say to her dad that she thinks the dog will now know to steer clear of the poor. Her train of thought is cut off when Chloe splashes into the water again. The father-daughter duo are left in stitches after Tremaine successfully frees Chloe from the water for a second time. Tremaine told Storyful: "We let our 14-year-old dog, Chloe, explore the areaÑclosely supervised. Just as I told my dad she was Ôclumsy' she fell in. Twice. Turns out, she can't swim. I had to jump in fully clothed both times to save her." "She got vestibular disease last year, so we weren't sure if she'd fall inÑbut she used to be a decent swimmer. Turns out, definitely not anymore." "Lesson learned. She's been to the vet since and is perfectly happy and healthy (for a 14-year-old dog).
