Mindy McCready talks to the today show about her book, being in jail, her record, soberity, her son. Country singer Mindy McCready took her five-year-old son away from the custody of her mother and went missing, authorities in Florida confirmed to ET. McCready took her son Zander from her father's home but a judge ordered the singer to return the child to her mother's legal custody. McCready told the Associated Press she is currently in Tennessee and can't travel because she's nearly seven months pregnant with twins. The 36-year-old country star had several successful albums in the '90s, but her career was later overshadowed by domestic abuse issues, drug and DUI arrests and a suicide attempt.
