Major NHS Changes proposed after Stafford Report

VOICED: Our main news tonight is the story of the appalling and unnecessary suffering of hundreds of people, treatment that led to the deaths of up to 1,200 patients, all of it at the hands of the NHS. What happened at Stafford Hospital is the biggest scandal in the history of the health service, a public inquiry concluding today that corporate self-interest was put ahead of patient care. The Prime Minister has apologised, 290 recommendations have been made, including "fundamental change" to the whole NHS. In the next hour, we'll hear from the victim's families, we'll hear from the man who was in charge at the time, and we'll find out why five more trusts are now facing investigation.
