Precise Miniature Of Shogun's Mausoleum Comes Back From London For Exhibition

TOKYO, JAPAN – APR. 1: A precise miniature of mausoleum of Japan's 17th-century Shogun, shown at the 1910 Japan–British Exhibition held in London and later gifted to the British royal family, has come back home for exhibition. Tokyo's Zojoji Temple, the family temple of Tokugawa Shogunate, said from April 2, it will host the exibition of the one-tenth miniature of the mausoleum. The actual beautiful mausoleum of the second Shogun Tokugawa Hidetada, a son of the founder of the Edo Shogunate era and the first Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, was originally placed in the temple but was burnt to ashes during the fire caused by the U.S. air raids in 1945 before the end of World War Two.
