Prime Minister Kishida recognizes Japanese astronauts, space cooperation in joint meeting address

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan says in a speech to a joint meeting of Congress that he still vividly remembers the television broadcast of the Apollo 11 lunar landing in 1969, and notes that Japan's own lunar mission in January achieved a historic first ever pinpoint landing, before announcing that a Japanese national will be the first non American astronaut to land on the moon on a future Artemis mission, introducing two Japanese astronauts in attendance.
