Tezuka Osamu Manga Competition Recognizes Emerging Artists And ‘Golgo 13’ Creator

Video footage shows the awards ceremony for the 23rd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize competition held on June 6 at Hamarikyu Asahi Hall in Tokyo’s Tsukiji district. “Jitterbug The Forties” earned the Manga Grand Prix for Shinobu Arima while Sansuke Yamada earned the Originality Prize given for fresh talent with “Areyo Hoshikuzu.” Veteran “gekiga” artist Takao Saito, best known for the “Golgo 13” series won the Asahi Special Prize.
